1989 - Taffel Akvavit

1989
Taffel akvavit

While the first boards were being introduced in Norway, alarming reports from the USA claimed that tens of thousands of people had been injured in the sport. As a result, the government banned the practice on November 15, 1978.

For the next 11 years, a band of die-hards kept the sport alive underground. The ban was lifted in 1989. Party.

This Quebec version of Taffel Akvavit is the result of a collaboration between Distillerie du Quai and our Norwegian friend, Dag Jørgensen, of the Voss Bryggeri brewery.

Skateboarding is now an Olympic discipline. That’s right!

PS: we just won a silver medal in 2023 at the London Spirits Competition.
